Year 3 - Final Year
Bellows, fights and freezing10/18/2019 The development of the story has become a stressful situation, but I think I have managed to crack the story line of the film.
I have decided to work with the Raby Estate solely for the project and develop the story along their deer management of the Red Deer herd. Their management has been increasing over the past 3 years after a period of no management at all, all efforts have been worthwhile as the herd is in fine form again. Getting footage over the past 3 weeks has become difficult with the limitations of technology and how close I have been able to get to the herd. However back-up plans and last minute changes have been profitable so much so that I have been lucky enough to get within inches of a very dominant stag (who is pictured above). I have battled freezing mornings, looking like a drowned rat from the rain and spending every penny I have on coffee and petrol; but I am so glad I decided to look into this project. It has always been a dream of mine to capture the rut and I have achieved that and more and I am very proud of the footage I have gathered. I hope you all do too when I release the final film.
